This is the highly improbable tale of two prison escapees, irresistible Bruce Willis and hypochondriac Billy Bob Thornton, who rob banks from Canada to Mexico to finance a somewhat legitimate lifestyle south of the border. In their run for the border they leave chaos, and pick up a public cheering them on and Cate Blanchett who is bored with her life and sees the two of them as "the perfect man."

Spago hosted the "spare-no-expense" after-party in a tent set up on an adjoining street in Westwood Village, and seen at the party were Bruce's ex-Demi Moore and their three daughters, Billy Bob's ex-Angelina Jolie, director Barry Levinson, Halle Berry, Wesley Snipes, Samuel L. Jackson and Matthew Perry.
